The Drowsy Chaperone Auditions
Music & Lyrics by
Lisa Lambert & Greg Morrison
Book by
Bob Martin & Don McKellar

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.

For any questions about auditions or to express interest in volunteering backstage, please contact the director at joeylarmour42@gmail.com or the producer at adam.tanton@itopa.ca.

Schedule an Audition

To maximize the number of people we’re able to see, auditions will be scheduled in advance. Please complete The Drowsy Chaperone Audition Google form to confirm a spot.

Auditions will be held at The Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts (ITOPA) (88 Thames St S, Ingersoll) on:

● Sunday, December 7, 2025 (6:30pm to 9:30pm)
● Monday, December 8, 2025 (6:30pm to 9:30pm)

Auditions will take place in 1 hour time slots consisting of a solo vocal audition and a group dance/cold read audition. A member of the production team will confirm your audition timeslot closer to the audition dates.

Prior to your audition, you will be asked to complete an audition form to denote key information including roles you’re willing to accept and conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. Audition Sides (character lines) will be provided on the day of your audition based on the selections you make on the audition form.
